Brexit

I think the country's just done something terribly stupid. You can sum up the remain case with "lots of risks and no clear benefits". Boring and unsexy, but boring and unsexy are mostly good in politics. I've been trying to find some comfort from some thoughtful Brexiters, but can't find any - the leave arguments are unconvincing. I very much agree with what British Dude and Niall Ferguson have written.

I can't even share the optimism of many in my neck of the woods on the political spectrum, that it's going to herald a new age of confronting our self-made problems. I think this is wishful thinking. Plans rarely survive the first engagement with the enemy. Leaving the EU could just as likely shift the political landscape to Corbyn or the Kippers.
